Times and Seasons

There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under the heavens. Ecclesiastes 3:1 A time to be born…  A baby was placed in the arms of adoptive parents this week! A time to plant and uproot….  In Hawaii planting can be done year round, but in Oregon my parents are planning their garden.  I look forward to helping them uproot weeds this summer. A time to heal….  The baby who was placed for adoption a year ago with medical needs and on a feeding tube is now crawling and eating normal food, doctors said it may never happen. A time to mourn….  Our family is grieving that...

A Quick Update From Deeanna

Transitions, no matter how quick or how long, are adventures that bring anxiety.  I am so thankful that the Lord gave our family several months to make this one.  The HOPE INC, Inc. office for the most part has been moved to the home of the Wertz family.  The room that has housed that office for nearly two years in our Big Island home echoes in its emptiness.  This arrangement gives Jessica (thank you Jesus for bringing her to run HOPE INC in Hawaii) and I an idea of how our new roles will play out upon our family’s move to Oregon on May 14th. Leaving Hawaii and the day to day tasks of...

Please  join us! April 27th, 1 to 4pm Pool and Potluck Party 91-780 Launahele St. Ewa Beach, Hawaii Let’s gather and celebrate what God has been doing in our families before the Wallace’s move to Oregon. Give thanks to the Lord, for HE is good and HIS love endures forever.  Who can proclaim the mighty acts of the Lord?    Psalm 106:1-2 To our Hawaii friends we are so thankful for each of you and what you have done to help the children, HOPE INC, and our family.  I know we can’t possibly give a personal Aloha to everyone but we’d love to try.  If not in April we’ll see you on a future visit...

Shine His light in the darkness!

I’ve been thinking lately about what church is and what church isn’t.  Is church a nice comfortable building with pleasant to look at decor and air-conditioning?  Is church a performance for us to enjoy?  A lesson to absorb so we don’t have to do much of our own bible study?  I think not!  So what is church? According to many passages in Acts the church is people gathering together because they have the same belief that Jesus is the son of God, the risen one.  Others who are hungry for the truth, actually desperate for the truth, follow believers to those gatherings. It...

Change is coming…

Change is coming…

Happy New Year and thank you for taking time to read this important announcement about changes in the HOPE INC, Inc. ministry. In communicating with you my heart is torn…. one way with rejoicing, for all the children and families that the Lord has allowed us to minister to in 2012.  It is such a miracle that in our first year without a government contract and less than half as many staff, HOPE INC, Inc. was able to minister to more children and families than in past years. The other reason my heart is torn is that I must announce some challenging changes that I am facing personally...
